Chapter 5: Tragedy

Tragedy, the yin in the yin and yang of life, often shows up unannounced. It shakes you, often breaks you and eventually pushes you to evolve—to shed the old skin and reveal the newness life has to offer.

In this process of evolution, there are moments of doubt and reflection experienced at the end of something vast—whether they be relationships, personal odysseys, or societal ventures, leaving one to ponder the worthiness of the journey undertaken. Why did the path wind in this particular direction? What compels the human spirit to persist, even in the face of foreseen tribulations? These are the moments meant for acknowledging and embracing the reality of where our mind is, has been and will be.

It’s both in an instant of clarity and despair that one can accept the tragedy for what it is and grow from it. On the other side of this transformation lies a thoughtful calm; a new day, a new opportunity to keep on living to one's true potential.
